The Labour Party met its Political Bureau on Thursday in Ebène, and Dr Ramgoolam spoke to the press. He commented on the reshuffle of the Cabinet on 30 August. He argued that the MSM government was forced to reshuffle because of what had happened to the former PPS Rajanah Dhaliah. The leader of the Labour Party wonders why Minister Maneesh Gobin is not receiving any sanction. “The Prime Minister was forced to do the reshuffle because to what happened to Dhaliah. However, there is a Top Guy he is protecting. This is Maneesh Gobin”, Dr Ramgoolam said. Navin Ramgoolam also says that the Attorney General cannot be a Minister. He argued that the government should sack Maneesh Gobin.
The PTr leader also commented on the composition of the Front Bench of a possible PTr-MMM-PMSD government, including Navin Ramgoolam, Paul Bérenger, Xavier-Luc Duval and Shakeel Mohamed. On the question, if anything happenned to him, he said that Paul Bérenger replied to this question the other day: “If anything happens to me, it’s the Labour Party that will ‘lead ninport ki gouvernman'”. This is what the PTr leader said at a press briefing on Friday, following the meeting of the political bureau and members of the Reds’ executive.
In the morning, a delegation from the Labor Party met with Monsignor Jean Michael Durhone. The Labour Party leader described the meeting as memorable and inspiring.
