On Sunday, October 30, a ceremony between Prerna -World of Inspiration and the Girmitya Foundation was held at the Gold Crest Hotel in Quatre Bornes. The ceremony was for the signing of a Letter of Intent to Collaborate between the organisations.
The ceremony was held in the presence of 15 members, including members of both organisations and press members. Among the attendees of the ceremony, representing the Prerna -World of Inspiration there was the President, Mr.Preet Sharma and also the General Secretary, Mr. Gowtam Gowry was present. On the other hand, the group of members representing the Girmitya Foundation were both co-founders; Mrs Swasti Bolay Bheekha and Mr Dilip Giri.
The collaboration signed between the two organisations made Prerna -World of Inspiration an official representative of the Girmitya Foundation in Mauritius. The objective behind going forward with this collaboration is for the Prerna-World of Inspiration to firstly complement the existing services of the Girmitya Foundation and secondly help the Girmitya foundation in meeting its objectives and vision of the Girmitya Foundation.

PRERNA World of Inspiration is now proud to be the official representative of Girmitiya Foundation in Mauritius. This collaboration complements the current activities of the Association in promoting cultural values within our youth. This collaboration is about giving an opportunity to people to know more about their ancestors, where they originate from, how they were living, and identify any existing siblings. It is about tracing your roots. PRERNA World of Inspiration and Girmitya Foundation will offer a basic free service to people of Indian Origin in Mauritius in finding and tracing their ancestors’ roots.
