Following the elimination from the Cup on penalties against Boro (1-1, 7-8) and the small point taken at Burnley (1-1), Manchester United recorded a third draw with the same score against Southampton, good tenth of the Premier League, which was following a big performance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. As a result, the Red Devils could see the top four slip away.

Once again, the Manchester United striker has not scored against Southampton (1-1), and has now played a sixth game in a row without scoring. After Cristiano Ronaldo missed the opening goal because of a Romain Perraud return on the line (7th) and then a Che Adams slip that prevented the visitors from surprising their hosts (9th), Jadon Sancho – who had scored against Fraser Forster, a few minutes earlier – quietly signed his second goal in the Premier League thanks to an action born from two passes from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford (1-0, 21st). Southampton pushed forward at the end of the first half, and Che Adams put the Saints back in the game with a nice flat foot (1-1, 48th). Forster was then called into action (56th, 61st) and, despite several situations on both sides combined with Harry Maguire’s new cataclysmic performance at the back, the score did not change.
Manchester City made short work of Norwich
Still in an armchair, Manchester City made only a mouthful of Norwich (0-4). Sterling scored a hat-trick (31st, 70th, 90th) while Foden (48th) made the break shortly after the break. A 13th success in the last 14 games in the league which allows the Skyblues to take back a 12 points lead on Liverpool, 2nd, with nevertheless two more games. A real steamroller!
