Premier League: A Lesson From Liverpool, City And Chelsea Are Ok

Must Read

The Mersey derby has resulted in a lesson for Liverpool! The Reds of Jürgen Klopp have corrected Everton (4-1) at Goodison Park, this Wednesday, on the occasion of the 14th day of Premier League. Salah has again shown his talent with a double (19th, 64th), while Henderson (9th) had opened the score and Jota (79th) finished the festival. Gray (38th) had reduced the gap for the Toffees.

A goal by Demarai Garay at the end of the first half briefly gave hope of a competitive match (2-1, 38th) but, with only two shots on target in 90 minutes, Everton never seemed able to thwart the Reds in superb form.

Mohamed Salah, author of a double, was again magnificent, despite being only 7th in the Ballon d’Or.

Chelsea had to fight to beat lowly Watford (2-1) and save their place at the top from the clutches of Manchester City and Liverpool, winners at Aston Villa (2-1) and Everton (4-1) on Wednesday for the 14th day of Premier League. The Blues, who were held 1-1 by Manchester United on Sunday, can thank Hakim Ziyech, who came on at the hour mark and scored the decisive goal twelve minutes later, for this victory over a Watford team that was very well prepared by Claudio Ranieri.

With composure and confidence, and without much regard for Jack Grealish, their 118 million euro recruit who was only allowed five minutes of play for his return to his training club, Manchester City has achieved a sixth consecutive win in all competitions.

The victory was achieved in a very dominating first half, with Ruben Dias opening the score with a well placed shot from the edge of the box, which deceived Emiliano Martinez hidden at the start of the ball (1-0, 27th).

The second goal, sublime, was the work of Bernardo Silva who volleyed a perfect cross from Gabriel Jesus on a fast counter (2-0, 43th), and thus has pushed the nail in the coffin.

In the standings, Liverpool remains in third place, one point behind Manchester City, which won against Aston Villa (2-1) thanks to goals from Dias (27th) and Silva (43rd), while Watkins (47th) had boosted the Villans. Chelsea is still leader after its victory against Watford (2-1). Mount (29th) opened the score, then Ziyech (72nd) answered Dennis’ (43rd) equalizer.
