Police in Abercrombie, St. Croix are actively looking for a Pamplemousses resident in his 20s who impregnated a 14-year-old girl. The girl, who has not been in good health since November 2021, was taken to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis on Friday, January 7. After being seen by a doctor, she was informed that she is 20 weeks pregnant. The teenager then revealed that she had sex with a 20 year old boy at her home in September 2021.
A female officer assigned to the Abercrombie, St. Croix police station recorded this statement for the teenager in the early evening of Friday, January 7. The teenager, who is in grade 3 in a pre-vocational institution, lives at La Cure Residence. In August 2021, she met the father of her child during a party at the local soccer field. The two exchanged phone numbers and began texting and talking on the phone.
In September 2021, she was alone at home when this young man, whom she knows as Patrick and living in the Pamplemousses area, had arrived at her home around 4 pm. She said she took the young man to her room where they had sex and the young man left her home around 6 pm. The teen stated in her statement that this was the first time in her life that she had sex.
The suspect is wanted on a provisional charge of sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16.
