Police Investigate Human Trafficking Involving A Police Officer

Must Read

A police officer living in the Police Quarters’ of Brisée Verdière is accused of being involved in human trafficking. His denouncer is none other than a 48 year old JCB operator who had an extramarital relationship with his wife. This man accuses this policeman of having demanded a sum of Rs 10 000 monthly so that he could continue to date his wife. An investigation was initiated to know the truth of this case. This one is led at the level of the police station of Lalmatie.

In his statement made in the evening of Thursday, October 27, this inhabitant of Lalmatie said he was having an extramarital affair with the wife of this policeman whom he knew in 2017. A week after this first meeting. He had received a phone call from the wife of the policeman who had invited him to an apartment in Roche-Noire. He said he went to the appointment where they had had sex.

Since that date they went to several places to satisfy their sexual urges. In May 2019, he was in the company of his lover when he had been seen by her husband. This last one had thereafter called him to come to meet him at his residence in the Police Quarters’ of Brisée Verdière. Following a heated discussion, he had confessed to the police officer that he was having an extramarital affair with his wife. Half an hour later the policeman had calmed down and asked the inhabitant of Lalmatie if he did not want his wife to know about this affair, he will have to pay her Rs 10 000 monthly and at the same time he will be able to continue his extramarital relationship.

But the policeman explained that the JCB operator had on several occasions demanded more money. In the month of January 2021, he had given him a sum of Rs 110 000. In May of the same year it was a sum of Rs 35 000 that he had given to this policeman at the branch of Mauritius Commercial Bank of Lalmatie. Last July, he had given the sum of Rs 20 000 to this policeman.

This month of October, as he was facing financial problems, he gave only Rs 4000 to the wife of this policeman. The latter then phoned him to threaten him that if he did not give more money, his wife will make an allegation of rape against him. The JCB operator said that he explained to the policeman that he would stop paying him the monthly sum of Rs 10,000.  So on October 24, the wife of this policeman reported a case of rape against him. He was arrested and later released on bail.

The inhabitant of Lalmatie maintained in his deposition that all the money he gave to this policeman was to be able to have an extra-marital relationship with his wife.
