Police Helicopter Called In For Kidnapping Case, Stumbles Upon A Cannabis Grow-Op

She was driven at that moment, in the direction of the mountain of Vallée des Prêtres in a vehicle, whose driver was wearing a balaclava. Immediately the machinery was set in motion to start an operation. This operation mobilized men from the CID, Divisional Supporting Unit and the Emergency Response Service. The logistic support of the police helicopter was requested to fly over the indicated area.

The Chetak helicopter, which was tasked with this mission, flew the mountainous part of this suburb of the capital for over an hour. No suspicious vehicle whose description was communicated to the police was found. On the other hand by flying over the part of the mountain next to Residence La Cure at the back of Ti-Rodrigues, a plantation of cannabis was spotted.

At around 12:30 pm, a team of police officers from the CID of the Metropolitan Police of the Northern Division, led by Inspector Lulith, raided this location. This exercise allowed to find one hundred and ninety plants cultivated in plastic bags filled with soil and manure. A surveillance operation was set up, but no one showed up at the site.

These plants, which measure between fifty and two and a half meters, were uprooted and transported to the headquarters of the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit at the Central Barracks.
