Owner Of l’Express Madagascar Appointed Cabinet Minister In Rajoelina Government

Madagascar’s President Andry Nirina Rajoelina unveiled his new cabinet on Sunday evening with a record of 11 women ministers out of 32.

Amongst the new ministers is the owner of media tycoon and businessman and former presidential candidate, Edgar Razafindravahy. The latter is the owner of l’Express Madagascar, a partner of La Sentinelle group in Mauritius.

Razafindravahy has been appointed as Commerce and Industry minister.

Daugher of former late President Didier Ratsiraka, Sophie Ratsiraka has been appointed as Crafts minister.

The ministry of Finance and Economy is also entrusted to a woman, namely Rindra Hasimebelo.

This new cabinet comes after political tensions in Madagascar namely after authorities found a plot to murder the President and to overthrow the regime.
