Non-Stop Flights From Mauritius To Delhi To Resume From May 3

Must Read

From May 3, 2023, Air Mauritius will restart its direct flights to Delhi after a three-year hiatus. Flights to Mumbai that had been halted in 2020 as a result of Covid were restarted by the airline last summer.

The airline will use its 254-seater Airbus A330, which has business and economy cabins, for the twice-weekly flights to Delhi. Six direct flights per week are now offered by Air Mauritius to Mumbai.

Krešimir Kučko, CEO of Air Mauritius, expressed excitement at starting up flights to Delhi again after a three-year hiatus. “India and Mauritius share a special relationship that is based on people-to-people ties,” says one source.

India and Mauritius are connected by geography, heritage, culture, and language. This April, Air Mauritius will formally mark 50 years of operation in India.

With Air India, new opportunities are being investigated to provide seamless connectivity via Delhi and Mumbai to/from a number of destinations in India.

The official airline of the country, Air Mauritius, will expand its network in India with the addition of two direct flights to Delhi, according to Haymandoyal Dillum, the high commissioner of the Republic of Mauritius to India.  “Enhanced connectivity will certainly boost tourism, trade and business exchanges, thus bringing the Mauritius-India relations to the next level. This is yet another milestone in our privileged bilateral relations.”

The long-awaited flight from Delhi to Mauritius, according to Arvind Bundhun, director of the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, is a significant development that would make it easier for passengers from the northern region of India to travel. “We foresee a steep rise in the footfalls on our land.”
