The driver of a red Renault car must pay a fixed penalty of Rs 10,000 before November 24 for committing the offence of noise pollution. This driver was also served a ‘fixed penalty’ for noise pollution, and he has 21 days to pay this fine of Rs 10,000, or by November 24.
In addition, a 27 year old man was stopped while driving his vehicle under the influence of drugs. His arrest was made during a road check on the Royal Road in Baie du Tombeau at around 5 pm on Friday, November 4. The man, who is a truck driver and resident of Cité La Cure, had a raspy voice and red eyes. These officers had reason to believe that this driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A breathalyzer test performed on his person was negative, however a drug test was positive.
