MSM Lashes Out At Opposition

Must Read

The President of the MSM hosted a press conference this Wednesday morning alongside his colleagues Bobby Hurreeram and Soodesh Callichurn. Joe Lesjongard severely criticised the opposition over actions taken during this year, especially the decision to boycott Tuesday’s parliamentary sitting. “They have shown their irresponsibility. It was the last parliamentary sitting this year and they decided to boycott it. In 23 years of active life in parliament, it’s the first time I have seen something like this. It seems the opposition is completely absent,” said Joe Lesjongard. The Minister for Labour was equally critical of the opposition.  For him, what happened in Parliament was “unprecedented”. “After all the opposition’s criticism of the FCC, the people who voted yesterday decided to boycott parliament. They will hold a demonstration in front of parliament to say that they are against the law,” he said. Referring to the opposition’s criticism of the Financial Crimes Commission, Soodesh Callichurn said that 95% of the Financial Crimes Commission’s provisions already existed.
