Moka Trail 2021: A Competitive And Sunny 9th Edition!

Must Read

The Moka Trail has kept all its promises, despite the difficult health context. Organized in a “light” version, this 9th edition gathered, on Saturday, October 2nd, many trailers who took part in the two events on the program, namely Le Petit Both of 14 km and Le Grand Pouce of 28 km. This year, the start was given in groups of 50 participants every 15 minutes in order to avoid any health risk by limiting interactions. This year, Simon Desvaux de Marigny won the 28 km Le Grand Pouce, while in the women’s category, Amandine de Monts took the top step of the podium.

Agreeing with him, Percy Driver, the race director, said he was satisfied with the good progress of this edition. “Despite the health context that made the organization of the event more complex, the Moka Trail was up to our expectations. We have to admit that this new original formula has not taken anything away from the beauty and the conviviality of this day. And like every year, we succeeded in bringing together trail enthusiasts in search of beautiful landscapes and thrills!”

This year, the Race Village was set up in Beau Bois. The main event, Le Grand Pouce, reserved for experienced runners, saw the victory of Simon Desvaux de Marigny. The latter won for the second time in a row in the main event. In great shape, he completed the 28 km course in 2 hours 50 minutes and 10 seconds.

“When I started, my goals were to have fun, as always, and to do a good performance. I had a very good preparation, which allowed me to get away from my competitors. The race went very well. I congratulate the organizers who have done everything possible to hold the event despite the complicated conditions,” he said.

The organizers were also able to count on the participation of many volunteers who ensured the smooth running of the events and the safety of the runners.

“I didn’t expect it at all, because it had been a while since I had done a trail. So this victory makes me really happy. The race took place in pleasant conditions since the weather was nice and not too hot. The Moka Trail is a great race and the course this year was great,” she said.
