As of Tuesday afternoon, the country has 63 new cases that are asymptomatic from various regions. Another 5 cases were deemed serious enough for admission to the New Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital in Vacoas. There are two deaths from Covid-19. However, Bois Cheri, the last red zone, has ceased to be a red zone as of 20 hours ago.
Current figures and situation
This decision by the High Level Committee follows a massive screening carried out on 27 July. The low rate of positivity removes Bois Chéri from this restriction. It will be the last locality to have been a red zone, until a new explosion of cases in each zone. 0.27% of the population have been tested positive for Covid-19 since the epidemic spread in March 2020.

Schools closed
A suspected case at Petit Raffray School involving a Grade 2 student who is believed to have been infected by a family member since last week and who has been in contact with classmates and teachers in the past week.
St Mary’s in Petite Rivière will remain closed until next Monday as a case has been detected on the school premises. A Grade 10 student has been tested positive in Ebène SSS Boys, and Bambous SSS Boys will remain closed for the next two days. The Quinze Canton school also remained closed on Tuesday due to a positive case on staff. At the Notre Dame College in Curepipe, on the other hand, the alleged case of Covid was denied in an official statement. The second closure was for the Lorette de Quatre-Bornes (LCQB) for new cases. For the Cosmopolitan College in Plaine-des-Papayes, positive cases have been recorded every day since the resumption of the first closure where it was even decried by the PTA associations and Upsee that the Director of PSEA, Mahesswarnath Luchoomun, did not want to validate the closure, despite the seriousness of the spread, by silencing all communication.
