The Simon Jones’ trained horse, Nimitz, won his first race in Mauritius after three previous outings. This stayer, who won over 2400m in South Africa, was entered into a race over a rather long trip at the Champ-de-mars racecourse. He raced in the middle of the field and he showed more stamina than his opponents to bag a nice win. He is one to be watched again over 2000m and more next time.
