Mary-Jane Gaspard reconnects with her public after six years of absence. She has just given to her sauce the title Defouler of her father Jean-Claude. This cover is only the prelude to an album of six tracks expected in the coming months.
Now a mother, the artist had chosen to give more time to her family. But, it was not until she was in the studio again for her brother Denis-Claude’s album, that she felt the urge to do it again: “With Denis-Claude we were working on his next album. It was he who encouraged me to get back into the studio. And when it was time to choose a title, Défouler was an obvious choice, because at that time we were in full confinement, so it was impossible to be in contact with the family, let alone go out. So I wanted to take this title to put some balm in the hearts of Mauritians.”
And since its launch on May 11, the song has been a hit on the island’s radio stations and elsewhere: “The song is played in Mauritius, Reunion and even the Seychelles.”
With these good returns, the artist intends to offer an album of six tracks to his fans who have long waited: “I want to thank my fans who have waited for me for six long years. I ask them for a few more months of patience to discover my next album of six titles. The public will find me in my favorite styles, namely ambient sega and sega love. This album is a co-production by me and Dj Bing Prod Label”.
