After two albums, Joëlle Coret returns with a single entitled Mama. The single and the video are available since May 27 on YouTube and streaming platforms. The singer has also translated the title into Italian.
On the sidelines of Mother’s Day, Joëlle Coret proposes a song to pay tribute to these brave mothers. The inspiration came to her last year: “I had written the text for Mother’s Day in 2021. I even had the opportunity to sing it before a small audience. Seduced by the strong lyrics of the text, it is this same audience that encouraged me to release a single. I reworked it and I am very proud of its release.
And for this tribute the artist chose the complexity of interpreting the song in piano-voice: “I wanted each word to take a meaning. That’s why I interpreted this song in piano-voice. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mervyn Padaruth the pianist. He also signs the arrangement of the music.
Rich in emotion, the song also has an Italian version: “Mama has greatly touched an aunt of mine who has lived in Italy for years. As she has just lost her mother, she asked me to sing the song in Italian. Together with two of my friends she translated the text and that’s how the Italian version was born.
