Kim Mungly: Strength From The South

Must Read

Kim Mungly is a tireless social worker. Freshly elected member of the National Women Council for the Savanne region, Le Matinal looks back on her journey.

It is not the will that she lacks. Indeed, Kim is made from the earth of those who fight to help others on a daily basis: “My parents were social workers. I inherited from them this desire to serve others,” explains this resident of Rivière des Anguilles.

Devoting her life to helping the most vulnerable, Kim decided in 2012 to found an association: “Medcare Academy defends women victims of domestic violence. In this context, three years ago, we opened a shelter to welcome them. We also work for gender equality and against poverty.”

With her popularity, Kim was also elected president of her local village council: “It is a responsibility I have taken very seriously for the past year. At the moment, we have several projects underway, including the construction of a soccer field and the renovation of the village hall. The villagers will soon have a Foot 5 field.

Since January 29, Kim has added a new string to her bow: “I am now a member of the National Women Council for the Savanne region. With the team, we are going to set up projects that will allow women to flourish.
