Nothing is going well in the Mauritian turf. The “internal” crisis has only intensified after the announcement of the suspension of the communication director of the Mauritius Turf Club Sports and Leisure (MTCSL), Shan Ip.
Shan Ip has been suspended from his duties and is awaiting a disciplinary committee hearing. In a letter from the MTCSL, he was accused of having asked a group of MTCSL employees to attend a meeting held by Jean-Michel Giraud. As a reminder, Mr. Giraud is the President of the Mauritius Turf Club (MTC). A meeting that was held in the precincts of the MTC without the ‘management’ or Chief Executive Officer of the MTCSL being informed. He is also accused of having published a text on the official website of the MTCSL without having informed the directors.
The uneasiness would be much deeper since the circulation of a certain audio tape. It seems that it is the one of the meeting that is pointed out, especially the one between the employees of the MTCSL and the President of the MTC, Jean-Michel Giraud. This soundtrack set the world on fire.
A voice, which could be that of the MCT President, clearly emphasizes that management authority rests with MCT and not with MTCSL.
More developments are to be expected in this case.
