Horse Racing (Meeting 22) : Alyaasaat In A Small Field

Must Read

Only six races are sheduled on Saturday Ocober 1. The main event will be a race over 1600m with five horses. A three-way match between the best horse of the lot, namely, Alyaasaat, Padre Pio and Black Cat Back is expected.

Black Cat Back’s latest race is to be ignored. The Ramapatee Gujadhur-trained horse and winner of the 2020 Gold Cup, raced wide throughout and he faded in the final straight. He is worth a lot more than this last run. His second place behind Crank It Up at the beginning of the season is an indication that this son of Black Minnaloushe has lost none of his abilities. Reinvigorated in training, he has the means to show a completely different face this time. He will be ridden by champion jockey Dinesh Sooful and he will try to win the race from start to finish.

Alyaasaat was also a disappointment in his last race. An unexplainable performance, finishing more than four lengths from the winner. This strong finisher was very keen in training this week, which is a good sign. It would be wrong to eliminate him. He will be well suited by a fast pace and there are three front-runners in the race.

Padre Pio was impressive last time as he fought to take the lead and he won from pillar to post easily. The presence of other fast horses, like Black Cat Back or Fools Gold will be a great challenge. South African jockey, Anthony Andrews may have to think about a chance of tactics and race Padre Pio from off the pace. Padre Pio is in great shape, and he has every chance to win his third race this season.

Dynamite Jack took his time to be back to his best. He seemed to be on the up in training and he will be right there finishing strongly if everything goes his way. Fools Gold can also finish in the money as his form is improving with two racing gallops under the belt.
