Hiking, Three Lost Dutch Youths Found By GIPM

Three young Dutch people in their twenties, who had gone hiking in Sept Cascades, Henrietta on Sunday, January 2, got lost on their way back. The three young people called the police, who went looking for them in the early evening. As they were on the edge of a slippery cliff, it was necessary the intervention of the Mauritian Police Intervention Group (GIPM) to help them. This operation was completed around 00:30 on Monday morning, January 3rd.

It is following a distress call that a team of policemen from the police station of Vacoas, led by sergeant Thakooree, went to Sept Cascades, Henrietta around 7:30 pm. Three young Dutch trainees of a company engaged in finance in Ebene got lost during a hike. A search was conducted and the three men were spotted not far from the old crematory at the edge of the waterfall. However, the cliff is slippery.

The police of Vacoas called the GIPM to help the three Dutchmen. This rescue operation was successful around 00 hours 30 this Monday, January 3 by this team led by Sergeant Soodhun. The three men were able to return safely to their place of accommodation in Flic en Flac. They did not want to mention the name of the company in which they are in training.
