German Tourist’s Car Ransacked, Her Possessions Taken

An insurance agent of German nationality, 35 years old, had the unpleasant surprise to see his car ransacked on his return from the natural bridge at L’Escalier. Thugs took a pair of sunglasses, clothes and a diving suit. The whole is worth Rs 22 200.

In her statement made at the police station of L’Escalier in the afternoon of Friday, April 28, this German tourist explained that this theft was committed the same day between 11:45 and 12:10. During this time she was admiring the beauty of the natural bridge. She had left her car in a path of canes at a distance of 600 meters away.

The rear windshield and a side window of her car were broken. This is how the thieves were able to steal her personal belongings which were on the seats of the vehicle.

This tourist had arrived in Mauritius on Monday, April 24 and expected to return to her country on Wednesday, May 3.
