The Mauritius Turf Club Sports & Leisure will not organise the races this year. The decision was taken unanimously by the members of the Mauritius Turf Club at a special general meeting on Friday. At the end of the meeting, Gavin Glover, president of the Mauritius Turf Club, the sole shareholder of the MTCSL, said that “the consequences of this decision will be significant”. He added that 2023 is a nightmare. He repeatedly insisted that the MTC is not dead and will survive. He even said that the club’s mission is to organize races and promote equestrian activity in Mauritius.
This is the first time that the Mauritius Turf Club will not be involved in the organization of the races. The question of the future of MTC (MTCSL) employees arises.
