From July 1st: Water Activities But No Picnics

Must Read

Closed for more than three months, the beaches are again accessible to the public since midnight yesterday, 30 of June. Several other activities have resumed under strict sanitary conditions. Mauritius has entered its third phase of reopening. However, cinemas, casinos, pubs, and discotheques remain closed. As of today, July 1, private and public gatherings can accommodate up to 50 people instead of 10. The same applies to weddings and funerals. Gyms and sports halls can also resume their activities. Only a maximum of 50 people, excluding those under 18 years of age, will be allowed to use them. Team and individual outdoor sports are also allowed. Places of worship may reopen, but with a maximum of 50 people. Restaurants, food courts and fast-food outlets will also be allowed to operate with a maximum of 50 customers. Bazaars and fairs, which were closed until now, will also reopen. According to the already established alphabetical system community centers, village halls, and the Citizens Advice Bureau will also reopen.

From July 1, all water sports activities will resume as normal at sea.  Picnics, however, are not allowed. This is the confirmation of Lindsay Morvan, general manager of the Tourism Authority (TA) the organization that manages the pages.

The nautical activities resume normally on the beaches, except for picnics. Boaters will be able to operate if they respect the strict sanitary measures, as required by the authorities. Everything has been done to ensure that all instructions are respected,” said Lindsay Morvan.

Thus, the public will be able to indulge in their favorite water activities such as kayaking, surfing, kitesurfing, boat rides and other sea recreation and fishing.

Elements of the National Coast Guard will be watching over the area.
