25-year-old actress Zendaya has become the youngest actor ever to be a two-time Emmy nominee. The young talent scored her second nomination for the Emmy Awards for her role in HBO’s teen drama, ‘Euphoria’. She also distinguished herself by being awarded the youngest lead actress in the drama in 2020.
As published by Variety magazine, Zendaya also acclaimed the title of being the youngest woman to be ever nominated for producing at the Emmys.
The list of nominations for the Emmy Awards 2022 was disclosed on Tuesday. The actress is the second black woman to win the category of the youngest lead actress after Viola Davis for ‘How to Get Away with Murder’.
Zendaya nailed a few other nominations for producing and writing original lyrics to two songs presented on Euphoria, ‘Elliot’s song’ and ‘I’m Tired’.
After the revelation of her nominations, Zendaya expressed her gratitude on Instagram.
About ‘Euphoria’
The HBO teen drama, ‘Euphoria’, shows a group of high school-going students in the town of East Highland. The Emmy nominated, Zendaya, plays the role of a 17-year-old misguided drug addict, Rue. The series follows the experience, trauma, family relations, friendships, love, sex and the search for an identity for every character in the show.
‘Euphoria’ is derived from an Israeli TV series having the same name, created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin for HOT. The Emmy Awards 2022 will be broadcast live on NBC on September 12. It will also be streamed live on Peacock for the first time.
