As a guest speaker to the 65th anniversary of the LIC, the Finance Minister, Renganaden Padayachy stated that it was an honour for him to be part of the celebrations of the anniversary of the Life Insurance Corporation of India which is present since its creation in 1965.
He also mentioned that the Insurance sector has been contributing highly in the economy of Mauritius. As mentioned during the budget about restarting the economy, everything has been going on smoothly as expected and hopefully, the financial year ends up with a huge economic growth in June 2022.
During his intervention, the Minister also talked about making Mauritius a focal point between India and Africa, which represents a market trade/trade market worth USD 10 Trillion. All opportunities should be seized and negotiations for free trade should be signed with the African Union in the near future.
He also discussed about the importance of reopening our borders with all measured protocols as the Tourism sector has suffered from a huge loss since the start of the pandemic.
