Dayal’s Private Prosecution: The DPP Will Come With A Nolle Prosequi

Must Read

The DPP will come up with a notice to drop the charges in the district court. This is what emerged from the hearing called this Thursday in the Supreme Court. Recall that Suren Dayal initiated a Private Prosecution against Pravind Jugnauth in the District Court of Port Louis based on the Kistnen Papers. The Prime Minister, for his part, has seized to challenge this action before the Supreme Court.

So, in the Supreme Court today, the judges ordered that the case go back to the district court. It should be called in a week. However, still in the Supreme Court, the representative of the DPP announced that he would come with a notice of abandonment of charges, nolle prosequi, before the district court.

The protagonists have a final appointment before the Supreme Court on June 27, after the case has been called before the District Court.
