“The region must be declared a red zone and a massive screening must be conducted. The factory should not be reopened as planned within three days. I learned that the number of infected at this factory could be more than 75”, warns and asks the trade unionist Faizal Ally Beegun to the Ministry of Health. There is 45 new ones confirmed at the new cluster at the Real Garments factory in La Tour Koenig which is temporarily closed, the suspected contaminated would concern about thirty others, to date asymptomatic, who are Mauritian workers and inhabitants of the region. The fear of further contamination persists. It should be noted that this region concerns a whole industrial area where there are several large textile factories including CMT and RT Knits, large companies also hiring expatriates and Mauritian workers from several regions but especially a concentration from the surrounding regions of La Tour Koenig itself, Pointes aux Sables , Petite Rivière, Grande Rivière, Albion and Bambous among others.
