A blessing ceremony of the Omnicane plant and refinery equipment was held at the L’Escalier industrial flexi-complex on Monday, July 12, 2021.
Various religious dignitaries were present as well as Omnicane’s top executives and some representatives of the plant and refinery employees, including Mr. Jacques M. d’Unienville, GOSK, Chief Executive Officer of Omnicane.
The cut is scheduled to begin this Tuesday, July 13, 2021. It is estimated that the plant will receive approximately 900,000 tons of cane to produce about 90,000 tons of sugar. It is expected that 220,000 tons of sugar will be refined this year.
