Alliance Of Hope Calls For The Resignation Of The Speaker Of National Assembly

Must Read

Members of the Alliance of Hope are calling for the resignation of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dev Phokeer. At a press conference on Wednesday, August 4, the leaders of the PMSD, the MMM, the Reform Party and the Rassemblement Mauricien were all unanimous: the Speaker’s behavior during the previous session of parliament is unacceptable.

For Xavier Luc Duval, the leader of the Opposition, Dev Phokeer crossed the red line. His behavior is unacceptable for a parliamentary democracy like ours. “We demand his resignation. At each parliamentary session he allows himself to expel at least one member of the parliamentary opposition, with the complicity of the government. I remind you that he was appointed by Prime Minister Pravind Jugnaurh and he benefits from my complicity of it. ”

Xavier-Luc Duval also returned to the PNQ and the walk out of the speaker. “Unacceptable and ridiculous. And moreover, it is horrible to make fun of Ragesh Bhagwan’s illness,” the PMSD leader maintained.

Paul Berenger was equally “outraged” by the speaker’s manner and expressed his “solidarity with Rajesh Bhagwan.” A speaker who performs a walk out of parliament is a buffoonery according to the MMM leader.

He also returned to the question to be asked by the MP of the Labour Party, Patrick Assirvaden, which was addressed to the Prime Minister on Angus Road. For him, it is a conspiracy and he said he was “saddened those young politicians behave in this way. He also found it unacceptable that “one year after the sinking of the MV Wakashio, nothing has been done and condemns the incompetence and irresponsibility of the government.

Nando Bodha, who condemned the speaker’s comments on “the illness of Rajesh Bhagwan, which is, according to him, a symbol. He also pointed out that the Angus Road issue is giving Pravind Jugnauth a hard time.”

Roshi Bhadain called for the reunification of all opposition political parties to “remove the MSM from power in the next election.”
