Allan Kartel: For The Next Level Clips!

Must Read

Much more than clips. The achievements of Allan Kartel are little jewels. Just look at the clips Mo bizin twa mo baba by Justice Lecoq, Ingra by Jason Heerah and Désiré François or the latest clip Whine Sa slowly by Blakkayo to reach this conclusion. But who is hiding behind the camera?

French of Mauritian origin, Allan Kartel is a self-taught. It is his passion for photography that led him to videography: “I learned photography on the job and today it is my profession for 12 years. Through photography, I became interested in videography. Then, I started to make clips. In total, I must have a hundred or so for both the local and foreign market.”

In addition to his dynamic shots, Allan’s signature video style is his ability to immerse himself in the world of the artists who hire his services: “I come from a family that is very musically inclined, and I also made music myself at one point, so when I’m asked to make a video, I’m first inspired by the music before I start writing the script, location scouting and so on. A well-crafted clip requires an average of one month of work.

And among his creations, the director does not hide his heart for the clip Ingra, which has more than 800,000 views on YouTube: “I had the idea of the scenario for a long time. When Jason Heerah approached me for the video I offered him the script and he accepted. The video is one of my favorites, especially since I realized a dream – to have worked with Désiré François on this project.
