During a press conference last Saturday, Rama Valayden had appealed to the other political leaders of the Opposition to support the cause of the lawyers, known as the Avengers. He urged these political party leaders not to underestimate the Avengers and added that this group of lawyers of which he is a member is appealing to the leaders of the other political parties. It appears that his appeal did not fall on deaf ears.
L’Espoir says Yes to the Avengers
Representing the Avengers, Rama Valayden met Xavier-Luc Duval on Monday at his office. The leader of the Opposition confirmed to Me. Valayden that as he had said in a press conference on Saturday, l’Espoir platform will participate in the wreath-laying ceremony at Telfair on 16th October 2021, namely where the body of Soopramanien Kistnen was found last year. Rama Valayden then announced to the media that the L’Espoir platform will be present at the demonstration on 16th October. Remember that the Avengers want gatherings of less than 10 people all over the country. Rama Valayden will be meeting up with the representatives of the Labour Party this Tuesday.

The member of Constituency no 3 has announced on Facebook that the Labour Party “will stand with the Avengers” and the citizens of Mauritius this Saturday “to demand justice for the murder of Soopramanien Kistnen”. He also added that the aim is to “denounce all the abuses and scandals committed under this government“. He recalled that the PTr has been part of the event from the beginning, which implies that Rama Valayden has succeeded in regrouping all the Opposition behind the Avengers for this commemoration.
