Absorption Of Harmful Substance – Two Two-Year-Olds Admitted To Rose-Belle Hospital

Must Read

Two two-year-old children were rushed to Mahebourg hospital late on Thursday afternoon, November 2, after allegedly ingesting a quantity of caustic soda. After receiving first aid, they were transferred to the Jawaharlall Nehru Hospital in Rose-Belle, where they were placed under observation.

It was around 5 p.m. on Thursday November 2 that their father, a 21-year-old bricklayer living in Vieux Grand-Port, took his daughter and son, both aged two, to the Mahebourg hospital. He suspected that his two children had swallowed caustic soda, which they found in an alley leading to their home. After being examined by a doctor, they were transferred to Rose-Belle hospital, where they were placed under observation. Their mother, who found them, still in a state of shock, was unable to give a statement to explain the circumstances of this incident. An investigation has been launched at the Vieux Grand-Port police station to shed light on the matter. The plastic pint containing the noxious substance was sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Réduit for analysis.
