A Motorcyclist Dies On The Pailles Freeway On The Monday Morning Of January 15, Swept Away By The Waves

Anwar Rehaz Noormahomed, 53, a security guard for Brinks, met a tragic end when he was reportedly hit by a car on the Pailles freeway. After his fall, his body was carried away by the current in the direction of Port-Louis. An investigation has been launched at the Pailles police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this tragedy.

The tragedy occurred on Monday January 15 at around 11 a.m. at the Camp Chapelon footbridge, Pailles. At the time, the country was under a class 2 hurricane alert. The motorcyclist, who lived in Les Guibies, Pailles, was on his way home. He was travelling towards Sorèze at the time of the accident. At the time, the freeway was jammed with traffic and the water was pouring down like a torrent. Some daredevils were on the bridge to witness the chaotic scene.

The Noormahomed family is very well known in the Les Guibies, Pailles area. His brother Asraf is a well-known carpenter. Anwar Noormahomed was due to turn 54 on April 21.
