Optimism is called! After the ease of restriction of this 1st July, a relief of inhabitants on the Mauritian and businesses, the island on the verge of opening its borders to tourists. All the authorities and operators engaged in the tourism sector are preparing to make this relaunch a success, in line with all the sanitary protocols and the ‘New Normals’.

Unvaccinated welcomed

We are in a preparatory phase. Our main focus is on the first phase of the border’s reopening. We wish that everything goes well for all those tourists wishing to join in the 14 resort bubbles. We are also counting to reach our population’s collective immunity to be able to offer a better experience once their 14 days quarantine ae over and PCR Tests passed. Same for the unvaccinated tourists we are accepting under strict conditions,” hopes Arvind Bundhun, Director of the MTPA. The first phase from July 15 to September 30 will also be open to unvaccinated people with a negative PCR test, 5 to 7 days preceding arrival, on arrival, on 7th day and on 14th day. They will join the Resort Bubbles but will observe the 14 days quarantine in full reclusion in the booked room with a regular meal delivery service. For the fully vaccinated, they will have access to all the luxuries and activities in the Resort Bubble, including pool and beach, but respecting all the sanitary protocols. After 14 days and subject to negative PCR tests, they will be able to leave the hotel and freely explore the many attractions of the island.
