Holding a bottle of blue alcohol in one hand and a box of matches in the other, a 20-year-old man threatened to burn his four-month pregnant sister. It was on the afternoon of Sunday, September 12 in the Red Earth area. The suspect is actively sought by the police.
It was on Monday, September 13, around 11:00 a.m., that a 43-year-old woman living in the Terre-Rouge area went to the police station of this locality to denounce her son. In her complaint, she explained that on Sunday, September 12, around 12:30 pm, she was sitting in the living room when her son arrived. He asked her for a sum of Rs 50, which she refused.
Her son then went to a room where his sister, aged 24 and four months pregnant, was lying on a bed. The 40-year-old said she heard her daughter screaming. She ran into her room and saw her son holding a bottle of blue liquor in one hand and a box of matches in the other.
Her son tried to attack her with a chair, but she managed to dodge him. He then tried to set his sister on fire, before going outside to set a garbage can on fire. The 40-year-old woman said she feared for her safety and that of her daughter, because her son could carry out his threat.
This mother cited as a witness her daughter who lives in the Cité La Cure who had come to her house as a witness of this scene.
