Good news for the relatives of the 36 Mauritian pilgrims who have been stranded in Bethlehem since Saturday. They will be able to board the plane at 8pm on Wednesday 11 October.

Father Gérard Mongelard has just been informed by the travel agency that the delegation of 36 Mauritian pilgrims stranded in Bethlehem since Saturday will be able to fly home this Wednesday, October 11 at 8pm.

If all goes according to plan, the Diocese of Port-Louis has announced, the pilgrims will be on board a flight from Tel Aviv to Istanbul tomorrow. They will then connect to Mauritius. They are scheduled to land at SSR airport on Thursday afternoon.

For security reasons, the delegation will leave the hotel at around midday tomorrow.

As a reminder, 36 pilgrims were stranded in Bethlehem because of the war there. Many airlines have been forced to cancel flights to Tel Aviv in the wake of the Hamas military offensive on Israel.

There are two other groups of Mauritians stranded in Israel.
