Sherry Singh Wants A Unique Date For A Big Demonstration

Must Read

Sherry Singh wants to find common ground to decide on a common date to organize a demonstration to, according to him, “get this government out”.  The former CEO of Mauritius Telecom met with the leader of the Labour Party, Navin Ramgoolam this morning. The meeting was held at the latter’s office, at Desforges Street, in Port-Louis. “This is the first time I met Navin Ramgoolam officially. We are on the same wavelength in terms of our view of the political situation today. The people no longer have confidence in the current government,” said the former CEO of MT after the meeting. The resigned MT CEO believes that “it is time to put aside our differences in order to get the government out of office.” After Ramgoolam, the CEO of MT met the leader of the opposition, Xavier-Luc Duval, then Bruneau Laurette. A meeting with Paul Bérenger will probably be held tomorrow. “I will try to meet also with small parties, new parties, NGOs as well as civil society no later than this week to decide on a common date for the demonstration,” concluded Sherry Singh.

“Duval is very reasonable” according to Sherry

Sherry Singh had high praise for Xavier-Luc Duval. “He was very responsive. He’s a very reasonable person. He has always been,” said the former CEO of Mauritius Telecom after their meeting. And Sherry Singh added that all forces that oppose Pravind Jugnauth must unite.

“Singh remains credible” says Duval

He is someone to listen to, added the leader of the opposition. After Navin Ramgoolam, Sherry Singh met with Xavier-Luc Duval on Monday. In a statement to the press after the meeting, Xavier-Luc Duval said he met Sherry Singh for the first time in years. “Sherry remains a credible person. He is someone who should be listened to. The Mauritian population should listen to what he has to say,” he said. Xavier-Luc Duval also said he will meet with the other leaders of L’Espoir alliance, including Paul Berenger on Tuesday and Nando Bodha.
