Due to lack of financial support, Komiko Comedy Art Club is closing its doors at the Bagatelle Mall. However, negotiations are currently underway with the Ministry of Arts and Heritage to find a solution.
“We can no longer continue. Our financial situation as a result of the pandemic leaves us little choice but to close the Komiko Comedy Art Club. But all is not lost if our cries for help are heard. Nothing is impossible for those who really want to support art. “explains Miselaine Duval-Verdun – the director.
Away from the country for personal reasons, Miselaine remains hopeful: “There are solutions. It is just necessary that there is an awareness. I hope that a door will eventually open. ”
Minister Avinash Teeluck met with three members of Komiko on Monday, June 28. Other meetings are planned, as Alexandre Martin, one of the actors, points out: “We had another meeting with the minister on Tuesday, June 29. For the moment, we have been proposed to continue our activities at the Serge Constantin theater in Vacoas. At our level, we will try to do everything to save our theater. We feel that there is a real desire to help us. ”
Note that negotiations between Komiko and the Ministry of Arts and Heritage will continue until a solution is found.
