Ramadhan 2022 : Spirituality, Sacrifice And Solidarity

Must Read

The holiest month of the Muslim community begins this Monday 4th April 2022. The 9th month of the Hijri calendar, the Islamic lunar calendar 1443, commemorates the revelation of the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the year 610, during the Night of Destiny, Laylat Al Qadr. Abdool Gaffoor Cassim comes forward with explanations that are based on three Ss, Spirituality, Sacrifice and Solidarity.

Ramadhan is a month that calls for the Muslim to show piety and kindness. He is called to perform the third pillar of Islam, Fasting, from dawn to dusk, but also the second pillar, Namaz (the five daily prayers – Fajr, Zohr, Assar, Maghrib and Isha and Salaat-ul Taraawih) and the fourth pillar, including Zakaat (Charity or Sharing). He is especially called to guard against all worldly temptations, i.e. all behaviors considered as contrary to Islam, to devote himself to his spirituality and to keep himself as pure as possible. He begins his fast before dawn with the Sehri and breaks his fast at dusk with the Iftaar. It is recommended not to indulge in excesses so as to be better prepared for the next day of fast.

In the following video, Abdool Gaffoor Cassim turns his explanations around three S’s in order to better understand the symbolisms and the duties of the Muslim during this month, but also the reason for this “abundance of initiatives“, especially during this holy month.
