PRB: Employees Have Until November 9 To Sign Option Form

Must Read

Current civil servants have until November 9 to sign the option form in order to accept the new salary grid and conditions of service recommended by the latest Pay Research Bureau (PRB) report.

Through a circular issued yesterday by the office of the Secretary for Public Service (SPS), civil servants were notified of this decision, which applies to civil servants posted in Mauritius, Rodrigues, neighboring islands and diplomatic missions. The civil servants, on official missions, will have seven days to exercise their rights after returning to their posts. The circular recalls that the decision of civil servants not to accept the recommendations of the PRB will be irrevocable. They will not be able to benefit from the new recommendations of the PRB and they will only be entitled to the annual salary compensation. The circular also indicates that the employees, who are on authorized leave or who are prohibited from their duties, will have until December 10 to exercise their rights. In fact, it is recommended that the staff members sign the option form with diligence so that the year-end bonus can be calculated on the basis of their new salaries.

In addition, the circular specifies that the payment of arrears will be made from next November.

The report of the PRB thus takes effect from January 2021.
