Must Read

A case of domestic violence was recorded at the Rivière du Rempart police station early this Thursday morning, April 6. A 31-year-old policewoman, assigned to the Central Barracks, denounced her 36-year-old husband who is also a police officer for domestic violence.

In her statement made around 5 o’clock on Thursday morning, April 6, this policewoman first made the history of her civil and religious marriage with her husband. The latter is currently banned from his duties for a case of indecent assault. Since September 20, 2022 she had left the marital roof to take up residence with her parents in a locality of Rivière du Rempart.

The same day before her departure, she had an argument with her husband. He had slapped her and threatened her that he would make her lose her job. She said she did not go to the hospital because she was afraid of his violent reaction. In the past she had been assaulted, she said.

In January of this year her husband had been banned from his job in a case of indecent assault. The victim in this case confided the policewoman, did not stop sending her messages that had become annoying and stressful.

Her husband, explains the policewoman, incited her brother to make false statements against her and her friends supported them. This policewoman declared that she counts with the Family Protection Unit.
