The black series continues on our roads. On the evening of Monday, September 27, Dipsingh Bucktawor, 19, also known as Tonam was killed instantly when the motorcycle on which he was traveling with his friend Neelesh Heera, 23, was involved in an accident at Middle Road, Piton. The young passenger died from multiple injuries. This was revealed by the autopsy performed by Dr. Prem Chamane, Principal Police Medical Officer. The driver of the motorcycle tested positive after a second test on the morning of Tuesday, September 28. He had twenty-five micrograms of alcohol in his breath.
It was shortly after 10:30 p.m. on the evening of Monday, September 27, that the Piton police station was informed of an accident on Middle Road in Piton. Arriving on the scene, police officers discovered two young people lying on the asphalt and a red Suzuki motorcycle at their side. The personnel of an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service arrived on the scene shortly after. The doctor was to pronounce Dipsingh Bucktawor dead. Neelesh Heera, the injured motorcycle driver, was taken to the northern hospital. After he received treatment, he was admitted to the ward.
He was given a breathalyzer test by Emergency Response Service officers on the morning of Tuesday, September 28. This exercise was positive. He had twenty-five micrograms of alcohol in his breath. A test was first performed shortly after his arrival at the hospital on Monday evening, September 27. The alcohol meter showed zero. In the morning when Neelesh Heera was seen by a doctor, the latter had put in his observation that he stank of alcohol. A second breathalyzer test was then taken.

Dipsingh Buktawor’s funeral took place late Tuesday afternoon, September 28. He was cremated at Laventure.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact circumstances of this accident.
