Our Economic Model Is A “Failure” – Says The RM

Various members of the Rassemblement Mauricien, excluding Nando Bodha, faced the press this Friday afternoon. Roshan Kulpoo, spokesperson of the economic committee of the party, stated that the country has reached the end of an economic and financial cycle. He added that our economic model, based on consumption, is a failure. “We are putting too much emphasis on the revival of tourism. It is true that it is an economic pillar but when we have a global recession coming in 2023, we must review our ambition,” he explained. With the risk of a global recession in 2023, he deplores the absence of an action plan from the government. “What is our plan B?” he asked. The RM pleads for a restructuring of the economic model.
