Noemi Alphonse and her coach, Jean-Marie Bhugeerathee, have headed to the state of Minnesota in the United States on Friday, June 11, thanks to the support of ABC Group. The disabled athlete will wear the colors of Mauritius and those of ABC Group on June 18 during the 42km Grandma Marathon in Duluth. And this thanks to the ABC Group which once again answered present to sponsor the handisportive Noemi Alphonse.
Noemi Alphonse’s goal is to complete this marathon in less than two hours in order to enter the famous Abott World Marathon Majors, with more than 180,000 participants, which will be held in Tokyo, London and New York among others.
“Since our first meeting, Noemi has shown her desire to push her limits to make us proud in the championships and has done everything possible to reach her goals. Today, the young champion is a living symbol of one of ABC Group’s core values, namely tenacity,” said Professor Donald Ah-Chuen, CEO of ABC Group. He added that “when the opportunity arose for Noemi to participate in the marathon in the United States, ABC Group responded positively without hesitation to finance her travel. Indeed, participating in this type of event and competing with the big guns helps her to improve her performance and prepare for Paris 2024.
It should be noted that ABC Group has been supporting Noemi Alphonse since 2017 and she has since broken several national and African records and has also been a gold medalist at the 2019 Islands Games.
