Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Collision With Parked Truck Dies

A 37-year-old man has been admitted to the intensive care unit at North Hospital since the morning of Thursday, September 24. This is after he collided head-on with a parked truck on the left side of Royal Road in Terre-Rouge. The driver of the vehicle was not present at the time of the accident. The motorcyclist did not survive his injuries. He died at 2 a.m. this Sunday, September 26.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Friday, September 24. The driver of a Yamaha motorcycle coming from Florida lane, Terre-Rouge was involved in an accident as soon as he emerged on Royal road. His motorcycle collided head-on with a Mitsubishi truck that was parked on the left side of the road almost in front of the Florida Pharmacy.

The victim was lying on the asphalt with the motorcycle between his legs behind the rear wheels when police officers from the Terre-Rouge police station arrived. The motorcyclist was evacuated to the North Hospital on board an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service.

After receiving treatment, the 30-year-old was admitted to the medical ward of the intensive care unit. An investigation was opened to determine the exact circumstances of this accident. The 50 year old owner and driver of the truck, a resident of Florida lane, Terre-Rouge, reported to the police station shortly after the accident.
