Motorcyclist Says He Picked Up Rs 375,000 Of Heroin

His version was not convincing. During a traffic stop on the Baie du Tombeau Coastal Road in the afternoon of Wednesday, March 8, a 25-year-old motorcyclist living in Pavillon, Cap Malheureux was found in possession of twenty-five grams of heroin. When questioned about this, the suspect Natanael Ryan Dylan Foolchund had to state, “missie brown sa mo finn ramass sa lor enn terin prive pre kot Jin Fei ek mo pou servi sa pou mo prop konsomasyon”.  The seized drugs are worth Rs 375 000. The suspect was brought before the court of Pamplemousses on the morning of Thursday, March 9. He is facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking.

It was around 1:10 pm on Wednesday, March 8 that the arrest of Natanael Foolchun was made by a team of the Tourism Police of the Metropolitan Police of the Northern Division. The suspect was driving on the Coastal road of Baie du Tombeau near Eden Garden. He was coming from the direction of Florida City and heading towards Saint Joseph, Terre Rouge. It is on the basis of precise information that these police officers mounted this control operation. The suspect was stopped on his motorcycle of the brand Haojue.

A body search carried out on him revealed a plastic bag in the left pocket of his tracksuit in which there was a whitish powder suspected to be heroin. When questioned about the presence of this exhibit, he was to say, “missie brown sa mo finn ramass sa lor enn terin prive pre kot Jin Fei ek mo pou servi sa pou mo prop konsomasyon”.

After being informed of his rights including, that he can remain silent or be assisted by a lawman, Natanael Foolchund responded, “Eskiz mwa missie donnmwa nn sans mo ti pou servi sa pou mo fime”. He was arrested and taken to the Baie du Tombeau police station. He was then taken to the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu) office in Abercrombie, St. Croix where the seized drugs were weighed. It weighed twenty-five grams. A search of his home turned up nothing.

After a first night in a police cell in the detention center of Vacoas, the suspect was presented before the court of Pamplemousses this Thursday morning, March 9. He was then taken back to the police cell.
