A lot of work done by the men of the Field Intelligence Office (FIO) of the northern division has allowed to elucidate at least 3 of 7 cases of burglaries committed in the coastal village of Trou aux Biches since October 2021 to these first days of this month of January 2022. Thus, on the evening of Tuesday, January 4, Rick Murphy Lebon, 20 years old and living in Petite Pointe aux Piments, was apprehended. He confessed his participation in 3 burglaries and incriminated a local resident as his accomplice. A raid on the home of the latter resulted in the recovery of various stolen items in a backpack which he abandoned before fleeing. The suspect is being actively sought by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Trou aux Biches, which has taken over this investigation.

The majority of the items found were stolen between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, from a villa in Résidence Piment, route Côtière, Pointe aux Piments, to the detriment of a 63-year-old French retiree. The two residents of Pointe aux Piments broke into the bedroom of this 60-year-old man by opening an electric metal curtain on a window.  They left with the contents of a safe including 3 envelopes containing respectively the sum of 6500 euros, 670 euros, Rs 40 000, a cellular phone, a fishing reel, diving equipment and fancy jewelry. The whole is estimated at Rs 631 492.

1610 euros and various items worth a total of Rs 300 000 were recovered in this case. They are also the perpetrators of another burglary in a villa where a 50 year old German project manager is staying. In order to gain access to this place, the two men had removed a glass panel from a window in the kitchen. They stole a wallet containing Rs 2500, a purse with a wallet containing Rs 2000 and three bank cards. The whole is worth Rs 600 euros. It was between midnight and 10 am of Saturday, December 26, 2021.

On Thursday, October 21, 2021 between midnight and 5 am, they broke into a villa occupied by a 31 year old French national. She had been robbed of Rs 2000, her passport, her identity card, cosmetics, two driving licenses, a pair of sunglasses, among others.

The suspect Rick Lebon was brought before the court of Pamplemousses this Wednesday, January 5, before being returned to the police cell.
