The Chief Justice has ruled in favor of Vice President Kreshan Ramdhun who sought an injunction against the holding of a general assembly of Hindu House. In a ruling issued last Thursday, Chief Justice Rehana Mungly Gulbul accepted the arguments of the Vice President of Hindu House to prohibit the holding of a General Assembly of Hindu House and the Mauritius Vaish Mukti Sang. She issued an interim order that is valid until February 15.
Kreshan Ramdhun claims that there were irregularities on the part of some members of the executive committee and has therefore appealed to the Supreme Court. It should be noted that last October, the annual general meeting of the two associations was to be held. But some life members had protested the fact that they had not been convened. This had given rise to a total mess. Hence his request for an injunction to prohibit the holding of these two meetings.
