Must Read

In recent weeks, the Chinese Business Chamber (CBC) has formed its new executive board for the year 2021/2022. It is the lawyer Jacques Tsang Mang Kin (former vice-president of this association), who was elected as president. He is assisted by Tin Yuen Yong Kwen Chong (vice-president), while Kate Li Kwong Wing acts as secretary and is supported by Catherine Foo Kune. For his part, Yan Ng Cheng Hin holds the position of treasurer.

The CBC is an association, which was established over twenty years ago. He added that his association brings together businessmen and women, professionals, including lawyers, solicitors, accountants and engineers.

Election postponed due to Covid-19

The lawman pointed out that it was because of the Covid-19 pandemic that the elections were postponed. “Many CBC members had signified their intention to run for the new executive board of our association for the year 2021/2022. Finally, five people were elected and they chose me to occupy the position of president of the CBC for a period of one year,” he said.

Mr. Jacques Tsang Mang Kin said he will act as an interlocutor to express the opinions and feelings of its members and also the Chinese community in general, to the authorities concerned. He thus located the importance of the interaction sessions, which will take place between the members of the CBC.

The new president of the CBC said that his association will also consolidate relations with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, but also with the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius.

Me Jacques Tsang Mang Kin, ‘de facto’ elected as a member of the United Chinese Associations, (which has 27 members), said he will attend meetings and respect the views of members. He added that two members, who will be co-opted, will be part of his association.

The program of activities of the CBC until March 2022 –
