Israel Reports Death Of German-Israeli Woman, Shani Louk, Taken Hostage By Hamas

Must Read

The Israeli authorities announced on Monday that the German-Israeli lady who Hamas had taken from a music event on October 7 and had been paraded around Gaza by the Palestinian terrorist organisation was dead.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog told Germany’s Bild newspaper, “I am really sorry to report that we have now received news that Shani Nicole Louk has been confirmed murdered and dead.”

“What we saw on the Gaza-Israel border goes far beyond a pogrom. We saw a slaughterhouse.”

Louk, a 23-year-old, was among those captured by Hamas amid a bloody attack on Israeli military and civilian areas that claimed 1,400 lives, most of them civilian.

Olaf Scholz, the chancellor of Germany, whose administration has steadfastly backed Israel as it has launched an attack against Gaza in retribution, said that Hamas should be answerable.

On a formal visit to Nigeria, Scholz remarked, “For me, this news is terrible. This shows all the barbarism that lies behind Hamas.”

Regarding Louk’s fate, Hamas has remained silent. Her death’s circumstances were not immediately apparent.

On Monday, the German government announced the death of a German person, but it provided no further details.

A family source informed Reuters that Louk’s DNA was detected in a body component that had been discovered. German network RTL/ntv said that her family now believes she was slain on the same day, likely shot in the head. Initially, they believed she was alive but hurt when she was kidnapped from the music event. According to her mother Ricarda Louk, “at least she didn’t suffer.”
